La mode is mad for Miu Miu. Once considered the baby sister, or the secondary line, to the cutting edge Prada collection, today MiuMiu is all grown up. The brand has moved away from its Milan home base and is now shown in Paris, the beating heart of all things fashion. This break has allowed the house to shine and it shows on the streets of fashionable cities around the world.
What is so attractive about the brand is that, with its quirky prints, clashing color combinations and dissonant designer style, it has created a niche all its own. It has carved out a corner of the fashion world where girly sweetness meets subversive subtext.
Miu Miu gives women clothing that lets them to play with the idea of youthful frivolity. But in a way that is grown up enough that wearing a shirt covered in naked ladies or nude tulle dress embellished with showgirl crystals is acceptable attire. Granted the Miu Miu look can’t be carried off by just anyone, but I am sure that is just how Miuccia Prada wants it.
