I had lunch last week with the charming Andrew Gn. But before we went off to chow down on at his favorite local restaurant “le Bouledogue”, which is the frenchifide way to say “The Bulldog”, I got to take a look at his cruise collection that was being shown in his retro glamour salon on the rue du Temple in the heart of the Marais.
As always with Gn, the collection focused on luxury but this time with a boho tribal back beat. The designer, who prides himself on the fact that his collection is totally made in France, showed a chevron patterned jacket in colors of terracotta and coffee that was finished off with wood beading trim, a white eyelet dress and another with a pleated front design that both screamed summer sophistication and some jewel hued eveningwear bedecked with beading that would be stiff competition for a fireworks display.

But the real news comes in the form of knitwear. Gn is expanding his repertoire to include something he is calling the “twin dress” as a play on the concept of the twin set. This turns out to be a cashmere and silk blend two piece that combines a light cashmere coat and gros grain belt with an equally feather light cashmere shift dress. Its one of those no brainer outfits that you know will look appropriate in any situation. And it would be perfect for a woman on the go who is living out of a carry-on bag.
