The designer Giovanni Bedin had a bit of a surprise in store at his Worth presentation: He finally added some long skirts to his usual mico-mini corseted creations. This season Mr. Bedin also decided to emphasize a corset’s underpinnings, transforming the boning structure into elaborate lace-up belts.

“I let myself go and exaggerate the concepts when I am designing the haute couture,” said the designer, whose under-the-radar ready-to-wear creations are selling at hip fashion stores around the world.

But with this couture collection it was the fitted hourglass jackets, which brought to mind the print of some exotic jungle cat, that hinted at hidden talents yet to be revealed.
